This weekend’s matchup between Bologna and AC Milan was postponed by the Italian authorities due to the bad weather forecasts after a challenging week for the Italian region Emilia Romagna. After severe floods, the game was postponed and will be played later during the season. For this reason, we won’t see USMNT Christian Pulisic playing this week in the Italian Serie A.

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni announced the decision of the Italian Serie A league after an emergency meeting that took place on Friday in Milan, where the parties involved discussed all the scenarios, including the possibility of using other venues, but at the end they decided to opt to just move the game for another date that will be chosen later, as both Bologna and AC Milan have a busy schedule due to the Champions League and Coppa Italia campaigns.

Paulo Fonseca’s side will be back on the pitch on Tuesday in San Siro when they will host Antonio Conte’s Napoli, but they will have to deal with the absences of both Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders as they were meant to miss the Bologna game.

On Thursday, Bologna’s mayor Matteo Lepore decided to close the Renato Dall’Ara stadium due to the weather and the challenging situation that affected the city over the past days: “The heavy rains of these days and the weather forecast for the next few ones do not allow us to predict a return to normality in the next few hours, also considering the Weather Alert”.
