Inter Miami have secured the Supporters’ Shield after a midweek victory over the Columbus Crew, but the job isn’t done yet with records in sight. They’re now only two victories away from setting the single season points record, but that won’t happen without taking care of business in Canada. With top MVP candidate Lionel Messi in the side, stopping the Herons is easier said than done. Messi has 17 goals and 15 assists in just over 1400 minutes played to lead the team alongside Luis Suarez’s 18 goals in the race for the Golden Boot.

Storylines
Toronto FC: TFC will be without Lorenzo Insigne for another match, but the bigger miss may be Federico Bernadeschi who is suspended. The Italian duo were signed to be key attackers for Toronto but the only one who hit his true potential was Bernadeschi with eight goals and eight assists this season. John Herdman will still need to find a way to secure points with Toronto’s playoff future hanging in the balance.
Inter Miami: While there are plenty of injury worries for the season, this is one of the first times when Tata Martino can choose the same XI from one game to another. Miami were able to leave Columbus with the entire XI who started that game available offering a great opportunity to run it back for a weekend match in Canada.
Prediction
With a record in their sights, Miami won’t be dropping points here to setup a final day showdown for the points record. Pick: Toronto FC 1, Inter Miami 3
