Soccer best bets, predictions, picks, odds: Liverpool to score goals, Barcelona’s Raphinha stays hot, and more

Heading into the weekend, while there are plenty of soccer games going on, they can at times be overwhelming to breakdown for betting purposes. But that’s why we’re here, to help keep an eye on from the best bets of the weekend. From the Premier League to obscure teams deep in Austria, there’s not much that is off the table. A few notes to lay out is that all odds mentioned are easily available and while it’s easier to use a widely available book, line shopping to get the best price is encouraged whenever possible. Also, when it comes to player props, it’s better to wait for lineups when you can, as not all books void non-starters and a substitute appearance can ruin getting money back for a bet.

Getting into the weekend, we have three main bets and a parley, all bets will be taken as a unit unless otherwise noted so without further ado, let’s get to it.

Premier League: Liverpool vs. Wolverhampton

Saturday, Sep. 28 (12:30 p.m. ET USA and fubo TV)

The pick: Liverpool to score over 2.5 goals +104

Sometimes a pick might need a lot of analysis as to why it makes sense, but this isn’t one of them. The Reds have been flying under Arne Slot, scoring three or more goals in four of six matches in all competitions this season. Two of those have come at home and two more have come away from Anfield. Facing a Wolverhampton side who are in the thick of the relegation race, even if Liverpool rotate with Champions League soccer on the horizon, that won’t matter. Wolves have conceded 14 goals in league play which is joint worst alongside with Everton. I also don’t mind Luis Diaz to find the back of the net here.

La Liga: Osasuna vs. Barcelona

Saturday, Sep. 28 (3 p.m. ET ESPN+)

The pick: 0.5 units, Raphinha to have three or more shots in the first half +300

Under Hansi Flick, the Barcelona attack has been on the front foot from the start of matches until the final whistle and that’s been quite a benefit for his attacking players. One who has especially thrived is Raphinha. Without Dani Olmo he has upped his shot production from the left wing and Osasuna won’t be able to keep up with him. The Brazilian has averaged 3.71 shots per game, although this is boosted by taking six against Villarreal, that’s why it’s a pull back units play, since it’s a longer shot for him to take care of business in only 45 minutes of play.

Danish Superliga: AaB vs. Sonderjyske

Sunday, Sep. 29 (8 a.m. ET)

The pick: 1st half over 1.5 goals +144

This is where we’re getting a little outside the box … we’re looking at the bottom half of the table in Denmark. Sonderjyske has improved their form lately scoring two or more goals in four of their last five league matches while AaB has conceded two or more goals in four of their last five matches. But, opening play, neither of these teams are good at defending. Since we don’t care who scores a goal, let them start early and often. Just the over 2.5 is a little too juiced for me at -160 so I’ll take my chances.

Weekend parlay

The pick: 0.25 units, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Marseille all to win +311

Keeping it simple here. I don’t love taking multiple road teams but Liverpool and Marseille are both in matches which they should win. Bayer Leverkusen will put up a fight for Bayern Munich but in the form that the German giants are in, I’m not sure if any team in the world can stop them from scoring.
