Manchester City 2024/25 PUMA Away Kit

Manchester City and PUMA have officially launched the club’s away kit for the 2024/25 season, drawing inspiration from a pivotal moment in the team’s history. The new design pays tribute to the kit worn during the unforgettable Second Division Play-Off final against Gillingham on May 30th, 1999, marking the 25th anniversary of that dramatic comeback victory.

The Man City 24/25 PUMA away shirt features a striking navy-blue base adorned with neon yellow vertical stripes, reminiscent of the iconic 1999 jersey. Complementing this bold design are neon yellow and blue accents on the classic collar and sleeve trims, creating a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern style. This thoughtful design choice serves as a powerful reminder of the club’s journey and the resilient spirit that has defined Manchester City over the years.

As defending Premier League champions, Manchester City will don this 2024/25 PUMA away jersey throughout their upcoming campaigns in the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, EFL Cup, and FA Cup. The launch of this away kit completes PUMA’s release of Manchester City’s match range for the 2024/25 season.

The 1999 Play-Off final holds a special place in Manchester City’s history, exemplifying the team’s never-say-die attitude. Facing a two-goal deficit, City mounted an incredible comeback, with Paul Dickov’s dramatic 95th-minute equalizer forcing extra time. The team’s determination ultimately led to a victorious penalty shootout, securing promotion and setting the stage for the club’s subsequent rise to prominence.

Paul Dickov, Manchester City Club Ambassador, commented: “It’s fantastic to see this year’s Away kit revealed today. The 1999 Play-off final victory still remains a special moment for myself and City fans around the world and I know the kit from that day is remembered by those who were there and beyond. It’s a wonderful gesture by the Club and PUMA to commemorate the anniversary with this year’s Away kit.”

Marco Mueller, PUMA’s Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, added: “This kit symbolizes a defining moment in Manchester City’s history and the relentless spirit of its fans. Our goal was to create a jersey that honours the past while using the latest in performance technology to meet the needs of today’s athletes and supporters. We’re proud to bring back a design that holds such significance and to do so with a sustainable approach.”
