Luis Diaz’s Liverpool future finally put to rest with 30-word statement

Luis Diaz has confirmed that he’s perfectly happy at current club Liverpool.

The Colombian international was asked for his thoughts after his national put the United States to the sword in a 5-1 friendly win at the weekend.

In comments relayed on X (formerly Twitter) by CaughtOffside columnist Fabrizio Romano, the Barcelona-linked forward said he was ‘not thinking about anything else’.

The current perception is that it’s highly unlikely Diaz will be heading to the Spanish top-flight this summer.

The Blaugrana are having difficulties overcoming Financial Fair Play hurdles, which effectively means they won’t have the financial muscle to get near our valuation of the No.7.

Who else is interested in signing Luis Diaz?

Ian Doyle at the Liverpool Echo notes that PSG have also been linked with the left-sided winger ahead of the opening of the summer window.

Given that Kylian Mbappe and his ludicrously high wage demands will soon be officially off the list, the French outfit should, in stark comparison to Barcelona, have the financial flexibility to make plays in the market.

It remains to be seen whether the Colombian would even contemplate a switch to the French champions.

Judging by his latest comments to the press, it seems unlikely.
