Lille midfielder Angel Gomes has opened the door to reuniting with Manchester United in the near future.
The Englishman graduated through the youth system at the Red Devils, but he walked away on a free transfer in 2020 to secure regular minutes.
Gomes has turned into a key player for Lille in the French top-flight, but he could leave the club when the transfer window reopens.
The 24-year-old has entered the last year of his contract at the club and he has no plans of penning an extension beyond next summer.
Les Dogues are likely to focus on his exit this winter and Gomes has said that he would not say no if United attempt to re-sign him.
He told The Times: “There’ll always be that sentimental soft spot, so of course it’d be difficult to say no.
“As amazing as it would be, after finding happiness abroad I know [playing in the Premier League] is not the be-all and end-all.”
