The 2024 college football schedule for FBS (football bowl subdivision) starts on August 24th, 2024. The regular season runs through December 14th, 2024 this year and ends on January 20th, 2025. The final game of the season is the 2024-25 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. This year, the ship is being held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. This will be the first year for the expansion of the Playoffs to 12 teams.
Conference Realignment for the 2024 College Football Season
The single biggest change for the 2024 college football season and schedule is the conference realignment landscape. It can be a little confusing, so we have the college football teams in a chart for you below on what conference they were in during the 2023 season and which during the 2024 season. We see 10 x Pac-12 schools playing in another conference this season.
The last two remaining schools in the Pac-12 (Oregon State and Washington State) wil play six Mountain West teams this season while they sort out what’s going to happen with the conference. We also see Army join the American Athletic Conference in football.

2024 College Football Schedule – Week 0
So, the 2024 college football schedule starts off with Week 0. This is the week when we just see a few teams play. The very first game to kickoff the day is Florida State vs Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland. The game is being broadcast on ESPN. We have three other games on that day and are just waiting for confirmation of the Delaware State at Hawaii game time and TV broadcast.
