Ipswich Town Football Club has revealed its 2024/25 Umbro third kit, a collaborative design with global music superstar and club sponsor Ed Sheeran. The distinctive jersey, which will be worn during the club’s Premier League and FA Cup campaigns, showcases multiple elements celebrating Suffolk’s rich heritage and landscape.
At the heart of the design is the unique ‘Suffolk Pink’ colorway, a shade historically found on cottages throughout the county. The graduated tones incorporated into the Ipswich Town 24/25 third jersey echo the distinctive hues of Suffolk’s coastal sunsets, creating a visual connection to the region’s natural beauty. This cultural touchpoint demonstrates the deep connection between the club and its home county.
The shirt’s upper section features silhouettes of two iconic Suffolk landmarks – Framlingham Castle and The Wolsey Gate – creating a distinctive horizon line across the chest. Below this, a series of six flowing lines represents the 60-mile Suffolk Coastal Path, which traces the county’s shoreline from Felixstowe to Lowestoft, embedding another significant local geographical feature into the design.
Adding a dynamic element to the kit, the designers have incorporated sound wave patterns derived from actual recordings of the Portman Road crowd. This innovative detail captures the atmospheric roar of supporters as players emerge from the tunnel, effectively carrying the home ground’s energy to away fixtures across the country.
The collaboration between Sheeran and the club is acknowledged through subtle branding, with ‘Ed Sheeran x Ipswich Town’ featured on the inside neck of the shirt. The design is completed with an Ipswich Town heart emblem positioned on the reverse, reinforcing the emotional connection between the club and its supporters.
