A common question that comes up is where do the Toronto Maple Leafs play hockey? If you are not a Maple Leafs fan (or will soon be one), they play in Scotiabank Arena. The arena was previously known as Air Canada Centre. In addition to the Maple Leafs (NHL, the arena is also home to the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

When you look up where the Toronto Maple Leafs play hockey, you will also see that Scotiabank Arena is owned and run by the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE). MLSE also owns the Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors. This has not always been the case for the two Toronto professional teams. 

Scotiabank Arena Background

Scotiabank Arena is one of the premiere Canadian sports and entertainment venues. It first opened in February 1999 as the Air Canada Centre and kept this name through June 30th, 2018. It was renamed to Scotiabank Arena on July 1, 2018.Over the history of the arena fans have been treated to a number of NBA and NHL playoff runs by the Leafs and Raptors. The 2000 NHL All-Star Game and the 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend were held at the venue as well as a number of large concerts.  

What is the Seating Capacity of the Scotiabank Arena? 

The seating capacity of Scotiabank Arena for hockey is 18,800 fans. For basketball and music concerts the seating expands to 19,800 seats. When the arena is configured to hold theater events, the seating is reduced to 5,200 seats.

What are the Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors Schedules? 

If you are looking for the Toronto Maple Leafs or Raptors schedules, we have those up for you. It’s not uncommon for NHL and NBA teams to share the same arena (and owners) anymore. The Maple Leafs regular season schedule runs through mid-April as well as the Raptors. If Toronto earns a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, then we’ll get treated to additional hockey matches in Scotiabank Arena too.
