Manchester United have practically closed the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to El Pais.
The Uruguay international has already agreed terms with the Red Devils and talks are ongoing over the transfer package.
It is now reported that a deal is close to completion and the 23-year-old will be travelling to Manchester in a few hours.
United are currently on the verge of selling Scott McTominay to Napoli. They have accepted a fee in the region of €30m.
This is expected to speed up the transfer process for Ugarte. The Red Devils are likely to pay around €60m for his services.
The club are likely to pay the transfer sum over multiple seasons such that they don’t fall prey to breaking PSR limits.
Ugarte is set to become the club’s fifth signing of the summer after Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
The club have not ruled out another signing before the deadline.
