More success looked on the cards on Wednesday at the Paris Olympics, with Micky Beckett well-placed in the men’s dinghy medal race, but low winds led to that being abandoned and he then finished last when it was restarted. On the track, Britain’s George Mills fell in his 5000m heat and furiously confronted France’s Hugo after the race, but he has been advanced to the final. Elsewhere, Jack Laugher sealed his place in the men’s springboard semi-final, along with team-mate Jordan Houlden.
