Chelsea defender Malang Sarr is set to join French outfit RC Lens on a free transfer, according to Foot Mercato.
The 25-year-old has been with the Blues since the summer of 2020, but he has made just 21 appearances in all competitions.
The Frenchman has spent time on loan with the likes of Porto and Monaco and he is now expected to return to Ligue 1.
RC Lens have agreed to sign him on a Bosman deal. Chelsea are expected to terminate Sarr’s contract by mutual agreement.
A transfer could be finalised in the next 48 hours. Sarr was one of the best young prospects when he joined the Blues.
His career has gone on a downward spiral over the past four years and he has the chance to redeem himself with Lens.
The Ligue 1 outfit are likely to assure him regular first-team football. Sarr did not make a single appearance for the Blues last term and he was forced to train with the development squad.
