We have two 2024-25 NHL outdoor games on the schedule this season. They are the Winter Classic and Stadium Series games. The first will be the NHL Winter classic between the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks at Wrigley Field. The NHL Stadium Series is being held at Ohio Stadium (Ohio State University) between the Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets. NHL Outdoor Games History
The NHL first held a regular season outdoor hockey game in 2003. Since 2008, the league has held at least one outdoor game a season. There are three different outdoor brands or competitions used: Winter Classic, the Heritage Classic, and the Stadium Series. For the 2024-25 NHL regular season, we get to enjoy the Winter Classic and Stadium Series games.
2024-25 NHL Outdoor Games
There are two 2024-25 NHL outdoor games this season. December 31st, 2024 is the NHL Winter Classic. March 1st, 2025 is the NHL Stadium Series match. The 2025 Stadium Series will be the first time that Columbus has hosted the outdoor game for the NHL regular season.

The 2025 NHL Winter Classic schedule takes place on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024. The St. Lous Blues play at the Chicago Blackhawks. The game is being played at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.

2025 NHL Stadium Series Schedule
